Privacy & your data

What we keep, for how long, and how to wipe it.

The short version: we collect the minimum needed to run SkillFlirt, never sell your data, and let you delete everything in two clicks.

What we store

  • Account info — email, name, optional profile photo. Your password is hashed by Clerk and never seen by us in plain text.
  • Generations — every input you submit (chat text, screenshots, selfies, profile details) and every output we generate. Stored so you can revisit them in your history.
  • Usage — how many generations you've used today (for rate limiting), feature breakdown by month (for the usage chart in Settings).
  • Payment metadata — from Stripe, we receive a customer ID, your plan, and subscription status. We never see card numbers, CVCs, or bank details.
  • Standard web logs — IP, user-agent, request path. Used for abuse prevention and rotated every 30 days.

Retention windows

  • Standard tier: generation history kept for 1 year, then deleted unless you renew or extend manually.
  • Platinum tier: generation history kept for 2 years.
  • Lapsed (no active sub): generation history kept for 30 days from your last paid period, then deleted.
  • Practice sessions (Chat Coach): never saved.
  • Account deletion: all data wiped within 7 days of request.

You can delete any individual generation at any time from your history.

Third parties (sub-processors)

We use a small set of trusted vendors to operate the service:

  • Clerk — authentication (sign-up, sign-in, password reset).
  • Neon — database (account info, generation history).
  • OpenRouter / model providers — the actual AI inference (your inputs go to the model, outputs come back). We do not allow these providers to train on your data.
  • Stripe — payment processing only.
  • Vercel — hosting infrastructure.

How to export your data

  1. Open Settings → Account → Export data.
  2. Confirm with your password.
  3. We email you a JSON file of everything we have on you within 24 hours.

The export includes: your account info, every generation (input + output), your usage stats, and your subscription history.

How to delete your data

Two options:

  • Delete a single generation: open the item from your history, hit the trash icon. Gone immediately.
  • Delete your entire account: Settings → Account → Delete account. Confirm with your password. We immediately disable the account, and your data is fully wiped within 7 days.

Account deletion is irreversible — we don't keep a backup. If you might want to come back, downgrade to Free instead (free is, well, free).

Your data is not sold

We don't sell your data to advertisers, brokers, or anyone else. Period. We've structured the business around subscriptions specifically so we never need to.

If this ever changes (it won't), we'd notify every user by email at least 30 days in advance and give you the option to delete your account before the change takes effect.
